- A system update restarted the RSC, RuneScape 2, and RuneScape 3 servers, and temporarily fixed the infamous Crystal chest glitch.

- Jagex announces that RSC will close indefinitely on 6 August.
August[]
- 6 August - RSC worlds were officially shut down due to lack of Jagex support with ongoing game bugs and other issues stated by Jagex in May.
- This update officially made RSC (and all accounts, data, and progress associated with it) impossible to access.
- There was no official news post for it on this day.
- 10 August - The RuneScape Classic Forums were removed without warning.
