• Website Update:Runescape updated (26 July 2001)
  • The bank is updated to allow players to store items other than their "gold"
  • Runite items are added to the game (this does not include the Rune Platemail Body which was added to game on 23 September 2001
  • The buildings in Varrock which were planned to be player owned homes are removed, with Andrew citing an unexpected increase in the number of people playing RuneScape causing there to not be enough homes to go around
