Player

A player

A character, otherwise known as an avatar, is the main feature involved in RuneScape Classic. The player controls their character's movements, and can customize their character in many ways. These ways include hair, arms, legs, torso, and gender. Other ways characters can be customized is through the use of clothes from Thessalia's Fine Clothes in Varrock, and armour, which can be obtained throughout the game.

Controlling[]

The character is almost always the centre of the playing screen. The user can control the character by clicking anywhere on the mapped area. Camera movement is controlled through the use of the arrow keys, Players can also interact with many scenery objects either by clicking on them or by doing a certain task. For instance, clicking a monster that is equal or lower level with a left click will make you attack them.

Interaction with others[]

There is an interaction part in the game. Players can interact with other players by doing many different tasks. Also, by using the chatbox, players can chat, or talk, to others. Chatting can be important in the game, as it can tell others what to do, or something about the character. The chat box can also receive duel requests, as well as trade requests.

Trading[]

Trading is also a common interaction between players. To trade items, both players must accept the trade and can exchange items. Trading is often important in the game, as many players rely on others to make the raw materials needed to survive.

PvP[]

Players may also fight other player. Fighting, also called dueling or PKing, is common to see. Many times when a fight happens, a player can lose their items to the other player. Players can fight in two areas, one being the Wilderness, where a duel doesn't have to be agreed on, or in a dueling area. In a dueling area, both sides of the duel have to agree on the dueling that is going to happen.

Quests[]

Shield of Arrav and Hero's Quests require another player in a rival gang for completion. They are the most common quests done together and various game forums usually have threads for players looking for a partner to said quests.

A friend or a passerby is also required for Merlin's Crystal in order to distract Arhein and get into his ship. This stowaway method of traveling is required to get to Keep LeFaye.

Customizing[]

You can change the gender, hair, and clothing of your character by visiting the Make over mage just west of Falador which costs 3,000 coins. You can customise your character by wearing different armour or clothing which can be made, bought from players, bought from shops or obtained by killing monsters.
