Cats are fully grown kittens. Their only use in RuneScape Classic is to be traded for 25 death runes to civillians in West Ardougne. Only after the kitten grows into a cat can the player purchase another kitten from Gertrude.
If a player uses their cat on a level-2 rat, the following message is displayed:
