The clock for East Ardougne is broken! Speak to Brother Kojo to begin the quest. He needs you to find each coloured large cog in the Clock Tower cellar and restore them to their correct positions on the clock pole.
You can only hold 1 cog at a time. |
Go down the ladder and follow the path west to a square with 4 different coloured tiles — each hallway leads to a different cog. You will return to this area several times. You may do the cogs in any order.
Purple cog, southeast path[]
- Follow the path to a junction heading west or south.
- Take the south path and collect the rat poison at the end.
- Return to the junction and head west to the large cage of Dungeon Rats.
- If the gates are closed, pull both levers to get into the cage.
- Put the rat poison in the trough. Doing so gives the following message:
- (You pour the rat poison into the feeding trough)
- Go back and close the first gate with the west lever, which will cause the rats to die and give the following messages:
- (In their panic the rats bend and twist)
- (The cage bars with their teeth)
- (They're becoming weak, some have collapsed)
- (The rats are eating the poison)
- (They're becoming weak, some have collapsed)
- (The rats are slowly dying)
- {The rats despawn and eventually respawn- the rat cage may now be searched}
- Go inside the cage and search the rat cage bars, which gives the following messages:
- (In a panic to escape, the rats have..)
- (..bent the bars, you can just crawl through)
- Pick up the large cog (purple) sitting on the floor and climb up the ladder.
- Climb to the top floor of the Clock Tower and place the purple cog on the clock pole.
Red cog, southwest path[]
- Follow this path and come to a room with the large cog (red) guarded by 4 ogres (level-58).
- Defend yourself from their attacks and pick up the red cog.
- Return to the clock pole and place the red cog on the 1st floor[UK].
Black cog, northwest path[]
Level 21 skeletons and other low-combat monsters patrol this route.
- Follow the path until you see 5 fires and a large cog (black) sitting against the wall.
- Pour the bucket of water over the cog and pick it up.
- If you wear ice gloves, you can pick up the black cog without dousing it in water.
- Return to the Clock Tower and place the black cog on the ground floor[UK] of the clock pole.
Blue cog, northeast path[]
- Leave the Clock Tower and head west across the bridge over the river.
- Head down the ladder south of the Carnillean house.
- Follow the path and push the odd looking wall at the end to enter the fenced area.
- Pick up the large cog (blue), climb up the ladder, and return to the Clock Tower.
- Place the blue cog on the clock pole in the basement.
Completing the quest[]
After having placed the last large cog on the clock pole, speak to Brother Kojo for your reward.
Rewards[]
- 1 Quest Point
- 500 coins
Glitches/Bugs
- If you wear ice gloves, you can grab and hold as many black cogs as you want. Interestingly, you will still get the message: "you can only carry one" after each cog you grab. Additionally, you can duplicate the cog, so long as you drop it and pick it back up while wearing the ice gloves.
