Cows are monsters in RuneScape Classic often trained on by low-level players, or fought for cow hides by higher levels. It is possible to milk cows by using an empty bucket on any cow not being attacked by a player. From this, the player will obtain a bucket of milk, used for making cakes and also used during the Cook's Assistantquest. Originally, when the free-to-play version of RSC existed, cows were a very popular monster to fight because making cow hides into leather armour was the fastest method of gaining Crafting experience in the game. Although this is no longer the case, many players still choose to train here due to their close vicinity to Lumbridge.
