Gunthor the Brave is the leader of the barbarians. He seems to wield, like most barbarians, a steel battle axe. Gunthor wears an orange shirt which differs from the Leather Armour worn by normal barbarians.

- Despite being an NPC with a unique name, Gunthor never had a purpose in RuneScape Classic beyond being a monster which players could attack. He was released on the launch day of Classic, and it could be speculated that Jagex had intended for Gunthor to have a more substantial role in the world of Gielinor.
