The Lady (aka. Lady of the Lake) is a non-player character located on the peninsula of the lake south of Taverley.
During the Merlin's Crystal quest, the player inquires about the legendary sword Excalibur and the lady agrees to give it up if the player is successful in a test. She sends the player to the room upstairs Grum's Gold Exchange in Port Sarim. Upon attempting to enter the jewellery store, a hungry Beggar appears and requests a loaf of bread. After giving him the bread, he turns into the Lady of the Lake and gives the player Excalibur as a reward for completing the test of kindness. As it turns out, there is no need to go upstairs after all.

Trivia[]
- The Beggar's test can be repeated in order to obtain multiple copies of Excalibur using the drop trick. This requires one bread for each sword.
- It can be repeated even after completing Merlin's Crystal and The Holy Grail.
