A Pickaxe is a tool used in the Mining skill to obtain ore from rocks found in various mines throughout RuneScape Classic. Unlike in RuneScape 2, pickaxes cannot be used as weapons, and are therefore un-wield-able.
Types of pickaxes[]
The types of pickaxes range from bronze to rune, and each one requires a different Mining level to use. Higher leveled pickaxes will cause the player to automatically retry at swinging at the rock a greater amount of times with one click on the rock. All of the pickaxes can be bought from Nurmof in the Dwarven Mine, and the following table is based on his prices.

Trivia[]
- Unlike in RS2, pickaxes in RSC only affect the amount of tries at an ore, not the actual chance of getting the ore.

A Pickaxe before the update.
- Prior to update of 27 May 2003 there was only one type of pickaxe, known as "Pickaxe", whose appearance was like the bubble item players see when mining. Its usefulness was equivalent to the bronze pickaxe.
