Searching the cupboard

• You search the cupboard, but find nothing

• controls guide: Hello I'm here to tell you more about the game's controls
• controls guide: Most of your options and character information

• controls guide: which is the second icon from the right
• controls guide: gives you a view of the area you are in
• controls guide: clicking on this map is an effective way of walking around
• controls guide: though if the route is blocked, for example by a closed door

• controls guide: Also notice the compass on the map which may be of help to you

Combat instructor

• Combat instructor: Aha a new recruit[{sic}}
• Combat instructor: I'm here to teach you the basics of fighting
• Combat instructor: First of all you need weapons
• The instructor gives you a sword and shield
• Combat instructor: look after these well
• Combat instructor: These items will now have appeared in your inventory
• Combat instructor: You can access them bv selecting the bag icon in the menu bar
• Combat instructor: which can be found in the top right hand corner of the screen
• Combat instructor: To wield your weapon and shield left click on them within your inventory
• Combat instructor: their box will go red to show you are wearing them
• When you have done this speak to the combat instructor again

Talking to the Combat instructor again, without wearing anything

• Combat instructor: You need to wield your equipment
• Combat instructor: You can access it bv selecting the bag icon
• Combat instructor: which can be found in the top right hand corner of the screen
• Combat instructor: To wield your weapon and shield left click on them within your inventory
• Combat instructor: their box will go red to show you are wearing them
• When you have done this speak to the combat instructor again

If you dropped, or wore the gear (shield, sword or both)

• Combat instructor: Today we're going to be killing giant rats
• Rat: squeek
• Combat instructor: move your mouse over a rat you will see it is level 7
• Combat instructor: You will see that it's level is written in green
• Combat instructor: If it is green this means you have a strong chance of killing it
• Combat instructor: creatures with their name in red should probably be avoided
• Combat instructor: As this indicates they are tougher than you
• Combat instructor: left click on the rat to attack it

Killed the rat

• Well done you've killed the rat
• Now speak to the combat instructor again

Talking to the Combat instructor again afterwards

• Combat instructor: Well done you're a born fighter
• Combat instructor: As you kill things
• Combat instructor: Your combat experience will go up
• Combat instructor: this expereince will slowly cause you to get tougher
• Combat instructor: eventually you will be able to take on stronger enemies
• Combat instructor: Such as those found in dungeons
• Combat instructor: Now contine to the building to the northeast

Talking to the instructor first time, or without raw meat

• cooking instructor: looks like you've been fighting
• cooking instructor: If you get hurt in a fight
• cooking instructor: You will slowly heal
• cooking instructor: Eating food will heal you much more quickly
• cooking instructor: I'm here to show you some simple cooking

cooking instructor: First you need something to cook

• the instructor gives you a piece of meat
• cooking instructor: ok cook it on the range
• cooking instructor: To use an item you are holding
• cooking instructor: Open your inventory and click on the item you wish to use
• cooking instructor: Then click on whatever you wish to use it on
• cooking instructor: In this case use it on the range

Talking to the instructor again, with the raw meat in inventory

Attempting to cook the meat first time

• You cook the meat on the stove...
  • You accidentally burn the meat
  • sometimes you will burn food
  • As your cooking level increases this will happen less
  • Now speak to the cooking instructor again

• Player: I burnt the meat
• cooking instructor: Well I'm sure you'll get the hang of it soon
• cooking instructor: Let's try again
• cooking instructor: Here's another piece of meat to cook

Attempting to cook the meat second time

• You cook the meat on the stove...
• The meat is now nicely cooked
• Now speak to the cooking instructor again

Talking to the cooking instructor again after successfully cooking

• Player: I've cooked the meat correctly this time
• cooking instructor: Very well done
• cooking instructor: Now you can tell whether you need to eat or not
• cooking instructor: look in your stats menu
• cooking instructor: Click on bar graph icon in the menu bar
• cooking instructor: Your stats are low right now
• cooking instructor: As you use the various skills, these stats will increase
• cooking instructor: If you look at your hits you will see 2 numbers
• cooking instructor: The number on the right is your hits when you are at full health
• cooking instructor: The number on the left is your current hits
• cooking instructor: If the number on the left is lower eat some food to be healed

• cooking instructor: There are many other sorts of food you can cook
• cooking instructor: As your cooking level increases you will be able to cook even more
• cooking instructor: Some of these dishes are more complicated to prepare
• cooking instructor: If you want to know more about cookery
• cooking instructor: You could consult the online manual
• cooking instructor: Now proceed through the next door

financial advisor

• financial advisor: Hello there
• financial advisor: I'm your designated financial advisor
• Player: That's good because I don't have any money at the moment
• Player: How do I get rich?
• financial advisor: There are many different ways to make money in runescape
• financial advisor: for example certain monsters will drop a bit of loot
• financial advisor: To start with killing men and goblins might be a good idea
• financial advisor: Some higher level monsters will drop quite a lot of treasure
• financial advisor: several of runescapes skills are good money making skills
• financial advisor: two of these skills are mining and fishing
• financial advisor: there are instructors on the island who will help you with this
• financial advisor: using skills and combat to make money is a good plan
• financial advisor: because using a skill also slowly increases your level in that skill
• financial advisor: A high level in a skill opens up many more oppurtunites
• financial advisor: Some other ways of making money include taking quests and tasks
• financial advisor: You can find these by talking to certain game controlled characters
• financial advisor: Our quest advisors will tell you about this
• financial advisor: Sometimes you will find items lying around
• financial advisor: Selling these to the shops makes some money too
• financial advisor: Now continue through the next door

Attempting to fish without a net

• You need a net to catch these fish
• Talk to the fishing instructor to get one

• Player: Hi are you here to tell me how to catch fish?
• fishing instructor: Yes that's right, you're a smart one
• fishing instructor: Fishing is a useful skill
• fishing instructor: You can sell high level fish for lots of money
• fishing instructor: Or of course you can cook it and eat it to heal yourself
• fishing instructor: unfortunately you'll have to start off catching shrimps
• fishing instructor: Till your fishing level gets higher
• fishing instructor: you'll need this
• the fishing instructor gives you a somewhat old looking net
• fishing instructor: Go catch some shrimp
• fishing instructor: left click on that sparkling piece of water
• fishing instructor: While you have the net in your inventory you might catch some fish

• fishing instructor: Left click on that splashing sparkling water
• fishing instructor: then you can catch some shrimp

Prospecting the ore

• You examine the rock for ores...
• This rock contains tin ore
• Sometimes you won't find the ore but trying again may find it
• If a rock contains a high level ore
• You will not find it until you increase your mining level

• mining instructor: hello I'm a veteran miner!
• mining instructor: I'm here to show you how to mine
• mining instructor: If you want to quickly find out what is in a rock you can prospect it
• mining instructor: right click on this rock here
• mining instructor: And select prospect

• Player: Hello again
• mining instructor: You haven't prospected that rock yet
• mining instructor: Right click on it and select prospect
