An Unpowered Orb is an item that is used in the making of elemental battlestaves. They are Crafted from molten glass at level 46 using a glassblowing pipe on molten glass. They need to first be charged with the Charge Orb spell of the desired element, and then used on a battlestaff, with the proper crafting level, to create an elemental staff.
Unpowered orbs along with the Charge Orb spell are a requirement to get past the Dark Metal Gate in the Legends caverns.
