A Weapon is a wieldable item that players can use to inflict damage in combat with players or monsters.
There are many different types of weapons in RuneScape Classic. For melee, weapons include daggers, maces, shortswords, longswords, battle axes, spears and 2-handed swords. Melee weapons must be used in combat and cannot be used long-range. For ranged, weapons include bows and crossbows and they can be used to fire ammo at an opponent from a distance. Magic does not have any weapons other than staffs which only provide magic bonuses and do not inflict damage itself. All weapons can be wielded with a shield except for the 2-handed sword as it requires two hands to wield.
When weapons are wielded, they will give WeaponAim and WeaponPower bonuses and better weapons will give higher bonuses. These bonuses will allow the player to hit higher and more often when in combat.
The 2-handed sword is the most popular choice as a melee weapon as it gives the highest weapon bonuses in comparison to the other types of melee weapons.
